Just when you thought Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s witch hunt against President Trump couldn’t stoop any lower… he went and orchestrated THIS.
Federal agents raided the New York offices of Trump’s longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen on Monday, Cohen’s own attorney Stephen Ryan said.
Ryan said the action was ordered on behalf of Mueller, who is investigating links between Russia and the Trump campaign.
The only problem? Mueller now seems to be investigating everything BUT Russia.
His probe is completely out of control – and it’s time to SHUT IT DOWN.
So what exactly did Mueller order the feds to seize from Cohen’s office?
Well, some of the records seized appear to be related to a $130,000 payment Cohen arranged to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
What on Earth does Mueller think those records have to do with Russia? Perhaps he believes Vladimir Putin formed a super-alliance with adult film stars to influence the 2016 election.
Like I said… Mueller is out of control.
This raid was Mueller’s latest attempt to embarrass Cohen and Trump. And with the way Mueller’s team leaks to the press, you can bet Cohen’s personal and privileged legal records will find their way to American reporters.
Even worse? Yesterday’s raid was clearly for show. Because Cohen was already cooperating with Mueller, undoubtedly at Trump’s behest.
According to The Daily Caller, Cohen has turned over thousands of documents related to the Russia investigation.
“These government tactics are also wrong because Mr. Cohen has cooperated completely with all government entities, including providing thousands of non-privileged documents to the Congress and sitting for depositions under oath,” said Cohen’s attorney Ryan.
Mueller and his probe are officially off the rails… and the political and legal world is finally agreeing with what President Trump has been saying for months.
Leading constitutional lawyer and longtime Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz called the FBI's raid "a shocking and disturbing development."
He added the development "should shock everybody, no matter what part of the partisan divide you're on."
Late Monday, President Trump took several minutes to blast the raid and the Mueller probe.
"It's a disgraceful situation. It's a total witch hunt," said Trump, who claimed that he had "given over a million pages in documents to the special counsel. They continue to just go forward ... and I have this witch hunt constantly going on for over 12 months now. Actually it's much more than that. You could say right after I won the [2016 Republican] nomination it started."
Trump also accused Mueller's investigators of being "the most biased group of people [with] the biggest conflicts of interest."
Sadly, this latest raid shouldn’t be a huge surprise. Throughout Mueller’s fraud of an investigation, he has a history of saying one thing and doing another.
Alex Van Der Zwaan, the 33-year-old Dutch lawyer was charged by Mueller for his role in the Russia investigation despite cooperating fully AND not being involved in any collusion.
Then there’s this… Mueller admitting that Trump is not a criminal target, yet persisting with this FBI raid.
Robert Mueller is completely undermining the legal process, and has extended his probe well beyond its initial scope.
It’s finally time for Trump to fire him. At this point, who could blame Trump?
