Special Counsel Robert Mueller has wasted months and millions of dollars on his Russia probe – a thinly-disguised witch hunt meant to take down President Donald Trump.
Now he’s under enormous pressure to show something for it. And he’s getting desperate.
His latest indictments of 13 Russians and three Russian companies was practically PLAGIARIZED from an old Russian news article that ran MONTHS ago. And there was no evidence that ANY of these Russians worked with the Trump campaign.
Even Trump’s sworn enemy, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), recently admitted that there is still no proof President Trump or his campaign colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election.
Now Mueller and his probe are at a crossroads. He has to justify the money and time he’s spent… and he’s under tremendous pressure from some Congressional Democrats to do something.
Because he can’t prove collusion, Mueller is hoping for a Hail Mary by attempting to investigate whether President Trump obstructed justice.
But that’s about to fall flat, too, all because of two simple words: Constitutional crisis.
As first reported by Bloomberg Politics, Mueller is very reluctant to move forward with an obstruction investigation, as it would likely trigger a Constitutional crisis.
First, Americans would be in open revolt. It would become apparent that Mueller pursued an obstruction charge because he couldn’t prove collusion.
Mueller would be in the awkward position of accusing Trump of obstructing an investigation into something Trump didn’t do.
Americans won’t sit for that… and neither will the Trump Administration
Bloomberg reported that and move on the obstruction front would likely cause Trump or the Department of Justice to fire Mueller – likely with the support of the public.
And that could lead to a Constitutional crisis.
This comes on the heels of some Congressional Democrats admitting what a waste of time and taxpayer money this investigation has been… in fact, two high-profile Democrats are joking about Mueller’s work.
So what happens next? Mueller is running out of options.
He can’t prove collusion, and he can’t pursue a bogs obstruction charge (no matter how much Trump’s enemies want one), without causing a crisis.
Expect Mueller to keep dragging out his investigation as he sorts out his next move.
But what he should REALLY do is admit that there’s nothing to investigate… and shut down this witch hunt for good.
