Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton promised she was being “transparent.”
She even claimed that she’d turned over all of the emails that had been subpoenaed from her private server.
But new evidence is leading to two very disturbing conclusions.
Clinton hid emails and may have destroyed criminal evidence.
And the Federal Bureau of Investigation, formerly led by James Comey, let her get away with it.
House Republicans claim they are now in possession of a damning FBI report, which emerged from an agency review.
In this report, as first covered by The Hill, a Clinton computer aide (whose name was redacted) admitted that emails were erased off of Clinton’s server after they’d been subpoenaed.
“The name of the witness is redacted from the FBI documents but lawmakers said he was an employee of a computer firm that helped maintain her personal server after she left office as America’s top diplomat and who belatedly admitted he had permanently erased an archive of her messages in 2015 after they had been subpoenaed by Congress,” The Hill reported.
That’s right – the FBI knew that the Clinton emails had been deleted in violation of a subpoena.
And that’s not all.
FBI documents reportedly stated that the “sheer volume” of classified emails that poured through Clinton’s private server was “proof” of criminality.
Lying witnesses… deleted emails… proof of crimes. So why on Earth wasn’t Clinton charged?
Former FBI Director James Comey publicly exonerated Clinton in 2016, claiming her actions were careless but not criminal.
But it looks like the fix was in from the start.
Documents emerged last year proving that Comey had begun drafting an exoneration of Clinton before he even interviewed her (although he told a very different story to Congress).
That’s some way to run a criminal investigation.
But the latest FBI review is proof that Clinton is not out of the woods by a longshot.
The Department of Justice is taking a fresh look at Clinton’s case. And with the FBI apparently admitting that the investigation was bungled… and that criminal acts were committed by Clinton and her associates… new charges are inevitable.
Comey will also be called to explain the mishandling of the Clinton probe, and whether he lied to Congress about when he decided to exonerate Clinton.
Could Clinton and Comey BOTH be facing criminal charges in 2018.
Let’s hope so. It’s long overdue.
